Nitrile is a man-made rubber, made from synthetic polymers including
butadiene and acrylonitrile. Butadiene creates flexibility and tear resistance, whilst acrylonitrile enhances chemical resistance. Poor quality or low cost nitrile gloves, often use ‘fillers’ to reduce costs, such as clay, calcium carbonate and silica.
